Background: Shuttle SN45G with an Athlon 2500+ (at 3200+), 512 MB RAM, Radeon 9600XT, Hauppauge PCTV-PVR250. I have .Net 1.1 installed. I also have all other patches for win 2K installed as per Windows Update.

When I try to start up GB-PVR I get a window that pops up and says the following:

"An unhandled exception has occured....." blah blah blah...
"The .Net Data OLE DB Provider(System.Data.OleDb) requires Microsoft Data Access Components(MDAC) version 2.6 or later. Version 2.53.6200.0 was found currently installed."

The stack trace of the exception is:

************** Exception Text **************
System.InvalidOperationException: The .Net Data OLE DB Provider(System.Data.OleDb) requires Microsoft Data Access Components(MDAC) version 2.6 or later.  Version 2.53.6200.0 was found currently installed.

  at System.Windows.Forms.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

I was able to hit continue to get past this... I did the configuration of my settings, then when I hit "OK" to continue, I got another error:

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

Trace is:

************** Exception Text **************
System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

  at System.Windows.Forms.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

Any ideas what I should do to get around this?

On Windows 2000 you need to install Microsoft Data Access Components(MDAC) version 2.6 or later. XP does not require this.

Ok, got past that, so far so good. Can watch live TV now.

Couple little things:

1) When I put in a DVD and go to play it, some other DVD player (I don't recall ever installing any DVD player software on this machine as it never had a DVD drive until 5 hours ago...) pops up and tries to play on top of the fullscreen GB-PVR video. It seems like it's some Windows provided DVD player. I can't figure out how to get rid of it.

2) I'm not getting any audio out on DVD's.

3) the channel listing, (using the remote that came with the Hauppauge) I can't get it to let me key in the channel # to jump to the channel. That would be VERY helpful, as would page up/down.

Waiting on my USB-UIRT to arrive so I can see what this can REALLY do.

2) Did you press "enter" after typing the channel numbers?
