Turning one remote into a universal one?

There is no built in support for the FireFly remote, but I'm pretty sure it works with GB-PVR. If you use the forum search you should quickly find the details of what you need to do to get it working.

I have my remote wire going under the TV, then hangs about 1" down off the front of the shelf.
sometimes have to keep the cats from attacking it, but it is not in the way and not glued to anything.

Our main problem is that the wire for the IR eye is not long enough to reach from our equipment alcove to the TV shelf.
The USB unit is already next to the TV.
The FireFly is a USB eye so we can use a long cable for it.
Guess I'll try the Fly.
