I've seen a handful of posts that show some users having to restart MVPMedia and MVPMediaSvc services after a power outage in order to get the GBPVR software to work. I'm one of those unfortunate few.

Is there a permanent fix for this problem?

As it stands now, I have a permanent Windows shortcut to Services on my Desktop in order to fix this problem. (I have relatively frequent power outages in my area.) I'm using the dongle.bin and trying to be as standard in my setup as possible to minimize problems.

Thanks

You shouldnt have to do this with the current v0.98.8 release.

Thanks for replying.

That's what I thought. Apparently I still have to do that. Any thoughts on if it could have anything to do with hardware? I know the dongle.bin supplies the instructions, as it were. Something just doesn't seem quite right.

I'm using a Belkin router as a wireless access point, if that makes any difference.

Thanks again

When the server is running normally and you unplug the mvp, does it load the dongle then or not? Or do you always need the hauppauge services to load the dongle?
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

It took me a really long time (months and months) to figure out I really had to restart the Hauppauge services in order to reload the dongle. I got excited when the latest version of GBPVR came out thinking that would solve the problem.

So, yes, still have to restart Hauppauge services.
