Ok, I have updated to the latest GBPVR; I also reinstalled the Hauppauge drivers. GBPVR still does not see the Wintv PVR but it sees the Avermedia just fine. The recording service says that both capture cards are sleeping. If I try to quick record from epg nothing happens, both are still asleep but the panel turns red in the epg which I think indicates that its recording but I don't think it is, It will not let me play the show. I can watch Live TV however. I exited gbpvr and ran filtercheck. The log is in the zip with all of the others from the gbpvr program. It looks like filtercheck sees the Wintv PVR just fine.

Were you aware that the recent Hauppauge drivers require you to choose the "Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2" option rather than the "Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2" option? They renamed the drivers at one point (and did some hardware modifications to newer models at the same time).

It's probably failing to find a device wit the name "Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2" because your have one with the name "Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2" instead...

I was not aware of this. Still a little confused. Are you saying that I may have the wrong drivers installed or that I need only tell GBPVR to look for WinTV PVR USB2 instead of WinTV PVR2 USB2. Sorry to be so dense here.

If I'm right, then you currently have "Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB2" selected. You need to change it to "Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2".

With recent drivers, this device uses the "PVR2 USB2" moniker.

Well what do you know! That was it. As far as I can tell the Hauppauge support page does not mention this change and it is so minor that I did not even notice.(These kind of things are so irritating!!)

I am definitely going to write a note to myself so that I do not go thru this again.

Sorry to take you on a goose chase
