I'm new to the program, first installed about 3 days ago. I am using a "non-supported" card, a Sony MPEG Realtime Encoder Board in my Sony Vaio RS-430G, but upon my first installation, I added my filters to direct.ini, set everything up in Config, and it worked great. Live TV was working, recording was working, everything was fine. But then after about a couple of days, nothing would work, period. When I try to open Config.exe or GBPVR.exe, either will use about 50% of the processor and will never actually open. GBPVRTray.exe does the same when Windows starts up, until I have to kill the process. The only piece that still seems to run OK is the recording service. I don't receive any errors whatsoever, and attempting to start the application doesn't generate anything in event viewer. I have tried to uninstall, remove all traces of GBPVR from the program folder and the registry, and reinstall, and nothing changed. Unfortunately, I didn't think to keep my logs when removing everything, so the only one that's been created since the reinstall is the one I've attached. Is there some kind of conflict that's likely to cause this problem? I haven't installed or changed anything else since GBPVR was working. I'm completely at a loss. Thanks for any help.

There is no real clues in that log. If config.exe or gbpvr.exe start, then it should be producing logs. Post these when you find them.

After trying several other things, I found that using msconfig to disable startup programs allowed me to run GBPVR normally. So it had to be conflicting with a program that ran at startup. After trying all the stuff related to the media center software that came on the machine, I finally got around to Tenebril SpyCatcher. Bingo. Maybe it could be configured to work around the problem, but I'm running other spyware solutions, and I just got rid of it. Now GBPVR starts up successfully.

Great - good to hear you found the source.

I'll try to remember the name of that software for future reports of similar symptoms.
