I have recently reinstalled my Nova-T 90003 card after lending it to someone so they can give it a try. Anyway, I resetup the card in config and have started having playback problems, all of which so far have been recordings from the card.

I have:
Hauppauge 250 Analogue connected to telewest box with IR Blaster
Hauppauge NOVA-T PCI card 90003

What I did to get the attached logs files
1. I cleared to logs directory
2. Ran GBPVR
3. Watched a video using xrecord - this played OK
4. Stopped and deleted the above video
5. Started playing another video - this is when the fault occurred

What is the playback problem:
I start the video playing and after a couple of seconds play it goes into "pause". Pressing buttons on the remote or keyboard then seem to advance or go back a few frames at a time. I dont seem to be able to get out of this mode without alt-f4, quitting gbpvr.
After I restart gbpvr the video mostly plays OK. If it doesnt I quit gbpvr and try again. The file plays OK in WinDVD.

Any help would be appreciated

Try to explicitly select your video decoder etc on the playback tab rather than relying on 'system default'.

I tried selecting "InterVideo Video Decoder" for video and audio and it does the same. I've attached another zip of the logs directory.

Another thing I noticed, when a video does play I can't press blue and get the overlay info on the video. This only seems to be for recordings off the digital card.

Might it be because the InterVideo Video Decoder is from windvd 5 which is quite old now?

Is it worth trying an updated version of windvd or another player. Will the necessary files be installed from a limited (demo) version of these players?

Can you try a decoder other than the Intervideo decoder? There is a decent free one here: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/MPV_Decoder.htm

Thanks sub, I'll need to wait about 30 minutes while Coronation Street finished recording. Gotta keep the WAF high!

Do I install from the "Release" directory or the "Release Unicode" directory

You can use either one. The unicode version gets more important in countries using extended character sets.

Gave it a try and it worked pretty well, better than the Intervideo anyway although the video was sometimes jerky. I'll experiment a bit more now I know that's what makes a difference, thanks sub

Just another quick question. After installing the digital card the IR receiver now wants to be in the digital card. Sometimes I press a button on the remote and it keeps repeating the button press itself for about a second after. Is there a way to put the IR receiver back into the analogue card as I asusme that would fix this problem.

I think someone else said it always use the last card installed, so you might need to uninstall the other card then reinstall it.
