Just curious, who here uses the harmony remote with their system, and any cool stuff you got it to do with it?
I just bought an 880 off woot yesterday, and just wanted to gage what all can be done with it.
thanks

I have used a Harmony 688 for quite a while now. Can't say I am doing anything clever with it but I set up a Media PC for the mvp and it integrates pretty well.

ya I plan to integrate mine with my media pc, but I mean what do you have it doing with your media pc?
Do you have it be able to boot it? etc?

I have been using a Harmony 880 with gbpvr for a while - works fine. I use Girder with the Hauppauge IR plugin because I didn't know that gbpvr had native support for the Hauppauge remote. But using Girder allows me to also start up gbpvr from Windows and to do things like change focus of gbpvr etc.

I have a Harmony 659 that I use in place of the Hauppauge remote with my MediaMVP. No problems with it, very handy.

I have a 525 (European model I think). Works very well with:
- TV
- MVP
- Amp-receiver
- Cd-player
- DVD- player
I have setup activities for watching TV with sound through the amp and for sound through the tv itself, etc etc. Works very well I think.
Only can't get the wife and daughter to use it. That's a problem because they use the old remotes, it's a bit of a hassle to start using the harmony when some of the devices are already on.
AMD Athlon 64 3000, HDD: 80, 120, 200 GB, Hauppauge 350 + 150, MVP, Asus 6000L Laptop client, Asus X50sl client,
Fritz!box 7140 modem/router, GBPVR 1.3.7.

I have the 880 for a while now (how much was it on woot, BTW? I missed that day).
I have the MS Ir Receiver (bought it mainly for their Keyboard, but it comes only with a MS remote...).
I use HIP only for some special keys (restart GB-PVR, start/stop another application, etc). But basically use the "MCE Remote" in the CONFIG app.
* Rogers Analog Cable [Canada]
* Hauppauge WintTV PVR USB2
* IBM Thinkpad T42 / 1GB Mem / Centrino 1.6Ghz / 60GB HD / ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 + VGA/DVI out
* MCE Remote + Keyboard
* Win XP SP2 / GBPVR [Latest version. always]
* Pioneer HDTV via VGA (1360x768)
* MS Remote Keyboard
* Logitech Harmony 880 [via MS Remote Control Reciever]

I've got an 885 and love it!

I'm still amazed how my activities just WORKS! And the activity concept is so brilliant that I cant't concieve why it's not a more widespread concept. Best of all - it's the first and only setup that everyone in the family and guests can use without a 3 day training course... Wink

E.g. choosing "Video" turns on my Samsung 40", sets it to AV1-input, turns on my Arcam AV-reciever, sets it for video input, and turns on my MVP. Volume buttons works on the Arcam, numbers/letters and navigation on the MVP/GBPVR and aspect ratio contol etc. on the Samsung.

But hey - we all know that's the cool thing about the Harmony remotes.

A cool thing from my setup: I have the light in the living room hooked up in two groups to IR sensitive wall dimmers (also touch sensitive). So I can turn on the light as darkness falls and/or dim the lights for the GBPVR recorded movie I'm about to start - that seems to amaze most of the people that have been exposed... Cool
