Probably a FAQ that I couldn't find, apologies if so.

The native Hauppauge server supports AVI wrapper -> MPEG-2 transcoding for MVP view. Is this possible using GB-PVR as the server?

Reason I ask is because I'm running out of disk space and I'm considering transcoding everything to MPEG-4 to maximize storage.

TIA.

Yes GBPVR does so. There is even a utility Zprocess which has very advanced controll capabilities to controll the transcode process (both to MPEG4 and back to MPEG2).

I assume your PC is up to the task.

I'll be honest, there is no chance I'm going to change anything about the MVP transcoding abilities of the GB-PVR. There is some fairly basic but function transcoding, but in general I recommend MVP users stick to native file types.
