So, I have the 1062, with the IR Blaster and MCE remote. I've got the 150 card working with my AverMedia 150 (boards look suspiciously similar... ).

I was playing last night, but couldn't get the remote to work. The Transceiver is still listed as 'Unknown Hardware' in the hardware details. I downloaded the newest drivers for the card BEFORE I even installed anything. But I can't seem to find drivers that work for the transceiver.

Any ideas?

I got the drivers to load, but by hacking the .inf file to include the hardware ID of the tranceiver.

I then got the remote to work... but it was spazzing out... I'd click up... and it would just keep going upppp.

I rebooted. Hauppauge's IR app came up then, and the remote didn't do anything. (It was talking to the tranceiver/receiver, cause the light on it was blinking.)

I'm not going to be using the IR blaster to control anything at the moment, I just want the remote to control GBPVR...
I must be missing something.

First, you will have to disable any Hauppauge ir remote software. When I had that card/beanbag, it didn't come with any. And the beanbag just plugged and played with Windows and the default MS driver.

I didn't like the driver, so I used the alt driver. It's available with HIP, but I'm sure you can get it separately...

Even if you don't want to use HIP, this faq is useful

I've got the PVR150MCE, and the beanbag remote worked out of the box with Win-XP Pro (no specific drivers, it just detected it). However I recall that you do need to tell GBPVR config that you're using a MCE remote, and also to use the 40-button Hauppauge extensions to get that section into remote.ini, otherwise you only get very basic remote functionality.

Having said that, I could never get it to work quite right and I tried all sorts of things (with some degree of success) - but eventually bit the bullet, installed the alternative drivers and HIP, set HIP up to do what I wanted on the desktop and in GBPVR (using the GBPVR keyboard shortcut reference from the Wiki as a guide), and its all been fine since.

HIP gives much more granular control of your remote function both inside and outside GBPVR and even though it takes a bit of work to get it set up, IMHO it's well worth it.

Good luck!

It seems like this may be a new Remote/Receiver combination... cause it's acting funny. In fact, the most recent download of software for the remote wasn't working without having to hack the .inf file.

Even when I hacked the Hauppauge .inf files, it worked sporadically, and only worked until I rebooted. Then nothing happened in any application.

I then hacked the .inf file for the HIP alternate drivers, and finally got it working, only with HIP running. I'm on XP Pro SP2 with all the updates, and no default drivers would work.

For anybody who has this issue... what I did to hack the .inf file, was to take one of the rows in the hardware section, duplicate it, and then in the new row, change the last section to match the hardware id of the remote receiver as listed in Device Manager. (I can post more when I'm home.)

So, now I'm up and running with the remote.

I'm missing FF and REW. (Since they're not implemented... nudge nudge)
I have nothing set up for the DVD button yet... or the big green button... but at least it works smoothly and quickly.

Remote is Model RRS9002-86XXF
BeanBag/Receiver is RXX6000-0141E

I've had to hack the .inf file for the drivers from Hauppauge, and for the Alternate drivers. When the system goes into sleep mode, or reboots, I have to reinstall the driver... and then it works, until I reboot, or the system goes into sleep mode.

Any ideas?

I've actually been using EventGhost with PVRX2. (It won't work with the -fse switch, but I'm happy with how it runs.)

What I did:
1) I changed the MCE remote drivers according to the "Installing the replacement MCE Remote Driver" section from the HIP FAQ zehd listed above, using the alternate drivers from http://burningzeroad.free.fr/MceIrApi.rar

2) Download & Install EventGhost 0.3.5c and upgrade to the latest 0.3.6.x beta. The links are available in the Wiki: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hardw...pings#toc5

3) Save the attached text file to the EventGhost folder and change the extension to .xml. Start EventGhost and open the XML file (File -> Open). Minimize EventGhost, start PVRX2 and see if your remote control works in the program. (The big green button is mapped to start PVRX2.exe)

No one else has tried the updated XML file, and I remapped some of the buttons, so they may not work 100% to your liking. The Wiki page also has a link to a site about changing button mappings. I added EventGhost to my startup group with the "-h" switch, so it starts minimized in the task bar.

Let me know if this works for you or if you need more help!
