Okay, I've ALMOST got playback of Live TV and Mpeg recordings perfect on a PVR machine I set up for my parents, but I'd apprecaiate some help in getting it VERY perfect! ![Smile Smile](https://forums.nextpvr.com/images/smilies/smile.png)
Basically, I'm yet to find a video decoder that gives me great results every time. (Using latest GBPVR on nVidia 6600GT video card). At the moment I have Cyberlink, DScaler, MPV decoders installed. Cyberlink and DScaler give me great smooth playback, but occasionally when changing channel, or skipping forwards/backwards through recordings, the video begins to stutter badly and ghost. Skipping channels forwards and backwards seems to fix the problem for that particular channel, as does pausing and playing a few times on recordings, but only until the channel is change / the recording is skipped the next time.
MPV, on the other hand, doesn't do this stuttering, BUT, video playback is noticably less smooth when using this, with lateral jerking when the camera is panned, or on news tickers. Dscaler and Cyberlink look much better.
So I feel I'm very close to getting this setup right. Any tips, requests for info, or recommendations for other decoders to try, very much welcomed![Smile Smile](https://forums.nextpvr.com/images/smilies/smile.png)
