PVRX2 changes Power Options in Control Panel

I'm in the process of rebuilding my system and have almost everything back to where I want it. The basic specs are:

XP Pro, SP2
GBPVR 1.016
motherboard - Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H
CPU - AMD BE-2350
1 gb ram

I'm using the motherboard's onboard video and running the s-video out to an SD television.

In the "Power Options" control panel under the "Advanced" tab, I have the computer set to go into standby when I press the power button. I also have unchecked the "Prompt for password" box.

My problem is that whenever I start & stop GBPVR.exe or PVRX2.exe, the options in the "Advanced" tab revert to the defaults; the power button shuts down the machine and the computer prompts for a password on return from standby.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I found the solution to my problem over on AVSForum

The Catalyst drivers, and not GBPVR, are the root of the problem. TheX1250 is ATI's mobile chipset and it likes to reset your "Power Options" for you. Disabling the appropriate service set things straight.
