I run my HTPC with my CRT TV as the primary monitor and my projector as the secondary, in DualView mode.

I have an XP shortcut to start GBPVR which I invoke from the remote, so I can start it at the press of a button and I don't usually use a keyboard or mouse to control the system at all.

Config says to start GBPVR fullscreen on the second monitor (projector), which is how I usually like to watch movies.

But there are often times when I want to start GBPVR on the primary monitor, e.g. when I just want to watch TV or listen to some music and the projector is off.

Does GBPVR have anything like a command-line switch to tell it which monitor to start on (like MediaPortal)? Or is there an easy way I can create one shortcut that starts it on the primary monitor and another to start it on the secondary monitor?

I just can't find out how to do this and I'm hoping someone here can help.

Thanks.

Here is the trick to do this while no recording going on. Make a custom button with batch file doing something like below.

1. First check to see if recording is in progress using SlimmGBPVR abort if recording.
2. make a folder with save config.xml. One for config_pc.xml, one for config_proj.xml
3. stop GBPVR recording services using netstop
4. copy your refer config_xx.xml to the main config.xml
5. start GBPVR recording services with netstart
6. kill GBPVR process

GreenPower button to startup GBPVR again.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, yes, was sort of how I was going to try doing it, and guessed it wasn't going to be easy. The other ways I was thinking was:

(a) to write a VB script to modify config.xml "on-the-fly" and then do a killprocess / restart on pvrx2.exe.

(b) use something like Auto-ITto create two different executables that just start GBPVR, and then use NVIDIA Desktop desktop to configure them to go to different monitors

BTW, why do I need to stop / restart the recording process? Is it because it locks config.xml?

P.S. A command-line switch would be kinda cool though, wouldn't it Wink and for windowed / non-windowed start. Maybe in a future release?
