I have an AverTV A16D (http://www.avermedia.com/AVerTV/Prod...Id=25&device=1).

First off congrats on making the best PVR I have found, the one that came with my card works well enough but doesn't support hardware acceleration and seems to be screwing up a few channels yours gets right. (I thought 1,2 specifically were poor due to poor reception but from using GB-PVR it is clear it's a glitch in the AverTV software)

Never the less there are some problems, maybe they all stem from the lack of an option for the A16D in the capture card type box, I had to use the A16AR.

First any of the channels may 'go wrong' and show garbled images, but that is easily fixed by changing channel back and forth (if it is bad it stays bad and if it is good it stays good until you change away and back again), it doesn't seem to happen the majority of times I change channel.

There is an issue with TV3, at the bottom half of the image there is what looks like a 1 pixel jitter, it does not occur at the top and it does not occur in the AverTV app.

C4 works but has occasional problems with screwed up images.

Maori, TVNZ 6&7, TVNZ Sport, TV Central do not work at all (well video wise), the images for all of them show a screwed up version of Maori TV!
Parliament TV seems to work however.

note: the image issues with AverTV on 1&2 mainly and the GB-PVR issues noted above are of quite different graphical appearance.

This is most likely caused by either your video decoder or video card. Another user had this problem with an ATI video card in the past, and couldnt resolve it until they switched to an nvidia 8500.

If you're using a video decoder that does hardware acceleration, it could be worth temporarily disabling the hardware acceleration in the decoder settings to see if it helps.

I'm pretty sure this will also be your video card. If it doesnt occur in the AverTV app (BTW, does support our H.264 high defi channels?), then it might worth trying with the EVR or Overlay video renderers to see if it is any different.

First off I just solved all but the 1 pixel Jitter on TV3, or a workaround at least.
If I am on a channel and it is screwed up, I just right click to exit to the menu, left click to go back into live TV and it's flawless.

Maybe there could be an option for changing channels that automatically carried out the above?

I'll try that, I am using Cyberlink and EVR.

Yes, the Beta of AverTV 6.0.12 supports everything, the video and the sound, however there are issues on some channels but that might be my IGPU or drivers (though only some channels cause problems at any notable rate, in fact to a far far lesser extent I noticed for a few moments the same issues in GB-PVR after watching the entire Freeview HD for a few hours)

I will try the test with different video renderers, thx!

Update: I tried the test, and indeed it's EVR which is causing the problems.
Still the main problem is quite fixable and the fix might help out others if you consider it worth trying.
I wish I know how to have the hardware do the job and yet not have TV3 jitter up and down though.
Update2: interesting to learn that ffdshow can handle interlaced h.264 as well as Cyberlink Ultra Deluxe can, only it's Free and OS, glad I didn't pay Wink
