Something else I have just discovered. If I reboot my server, the dongle setting always defaults back to the old one. I must then manually change it and power cycle the mvp box.

Any ideas?

Thanks

If you have a revision H unit and if you reboot the server a flash based dongle will load. For this to happen though mvpmc must also lose power.

I don't understand the width problem, it sounds like something in your monitor, if you can upload a sample somewhere I will have a look

Martin,

I have tested by plugging my laptop into the tv via svideo and I am seeing the same issue. It seems that there is something wonky with my TV. The laptop desktop goes over the sides roughly about the same as what the video does. So yip I have a problem here. Rolleyes I am going to have to google and see if I can find anything about this. Strange that this doesnt happen when I play a dvd. Have checked with same DVD as divx file I was testing with earlier and DVD shows everything.

Regarding the other issue, when I set the dongle type to mvpmc.bin in GB-PVR configuration under the PVP tab it works fine. However if I reboot the server and go back into that tab I see that the dongle type is changed to dongle.bin. This happens every time I power the server off. So when I power up the MVP device it loads the incorrect dongle. I need to remotely access the server and change this setting before powering up the MVP otherwise it wont work. Bit painfull. So what I have done is I have moved the dongle.bin file from the directory and have renamed mvpmv.bin to dongle.bin. Now the correct dongle gets loaded when the server gets powered on. Weird I know, but at least this is a bit of a workaround.

Thanks for all your help Martin. I really appreciate you taking the time to help fix my issues. Big Grin
