2 questions...

Ever since I setup my PCH and launched GBPVR on it, the screen has resized (it is always over scanned badly) and will jump back and forth with different amounts of the menu and lists showing (once video playback starts it is flawless). While it is use-able, it is annoying. Anyone else seen this? Thinking it could be my TV trying to size the GBPVR output..

Is there a plan to get GB-PVR to autostart on the PCH? Not that it happens often, but when I restart the GB-PVR server (it is running on Windows) the PCH disconnects and only way to get it to connect again seems to be to pull the power and get it to connect again...

Thanks,
Roy

If you are overscanning badly you should get the MLPosition plugin and adjust config.xml
If that doesn't work compress and upload your logs.

As for a plan, I am pretty much stumbling along trying to offer what I can. Looking at the NMT forum running user apps is pretty low profile so while Syabas have said they would allow this, it is low profile. It could be scripted with a hard disk load, but that is not where I want to take mvpmcx2.

I am surprised it hangs that often for you on exit. I purposely stop the server easily 50+ times during an evening of testing without problem.

Found the link for you new easy script. It seemed to be less jumpy, the only time it "resizes" is when I change menus (I might have been running an old version). My overscan issue it actually do to my widescreen TV stretching the image I think. Is there anyway to tell mvpmcx2 to run in "widescreen" mode?

Figured that it would be low priority for Syabas, they don't seem to be too interested in new features right now anyway.

I will see if the new version is more tolerable of restarts, but since the windows machine running GB-PVR auto-updates at 3:00am (almost every Tuesday) the PCH will have dropped back to the blue screen telling you to hit return.

Thanks,
Roy

mvpmcx2 will run in whatever resolution you specify on 480/576/720p/1080i/1080p monitors. This is discussed in the survival guide.

I actually think Syabas have been adding lots of things, just not things I need.

If you want you can hit the Power button on the remote to drop back to the Popcorn screen to avoid any crashes when mvpmcx2 isn't expecting it.

Mine acts like rwalker's, too. It is a damn nuisance as I can't expect my wife to get GBPVR back running. After a host reboot all I get is the black screen which leaves me wondering which key to use to try to get it hooking up again. Even if I avoid the power plug restart, it still takes so long to find the server and present the media menu. It's especially embarrassing when you have expectant guests waiting for the show!

Pity syabas can't/won't help with kicking off 3rd party apps more elegantly.

If you to actually have to do a hard unplug reset often I can't understand why you don't exit GBPVR with the power key and then power off the NMT.

To get back to GBPVR with the default setting it is

power on
blue key
enter
cursor down
enter

How hard can that be to teach?
