1.3.7 install problem

OK, so I had 1.3.7 installed, configured, and working. Then I decided to try the new skin. PVRX2 locked up hard, and I had to hard power off the box. Restarted, and since then the recording service will not start, and gbpvr will not install or uninstall. At this point unless I can either get it working or figure out how to get it to uninstall so I can install it again, I'm faced with wiping the hard drive again. Not a pleasant prospect.

I've attached the gbpvr logs. There is also a log from the install. Hopefully someone (sub;-) can share their wisdom.

I don't have any of the softwares in that post, and like I said, it was working until I had to do a hard power off. That also would not prevent it from installing or uninstalling. Any other ideas?

EDIT: I tried it anyway, no difference. I also got this error from the event log:

I referenced that post because your logs show that you are getting the .Net.Sockets exception. I recommend applying the hotfix to your system.

For uninstalling, backup your your "Program Files\Devnz" folder then delete it. Then when you go to Add/Remove programs and try to uninstall, it should tell you that it's not found and ask if you want to remove it from the list. Say yes, then reinstall it. You can restore your backup copies of config.xml and gbpvr.db3 to have all your settings back.

You may need to kill the following tasks if they are running:
Config.exe
GBPVRRecordingService.exe
PvrX2.exe

Did that, still did not want to install. Played around with logging and finally figured out that it could not over-write the recording service for some reason. Had to hack it out of the registry, reboot, and finally it reinstalled and everything worked!
