So export recordings, delete capture source, delete cache file, rescan, import recordings.

Sound about right??

My comments:

I agree with martint123, make a copy of your entire gbpvr directory first.

Exporting recordings is OK, but I don't usually do it when testing. You can get them from your backup if you really need them later.
You won't lose any past videos when you delete the source, but you will lose future scheduled recordings for that source.

The cache file can be saved, but rename it. It only sees SCAN-2.cache, so renaming to:
1st_test_scan_with_amplifier_SCAN-2.cache
and
2nd_test_scan_without_splitters_SCAN-2.cache
etc.,will let you compare what it finds with different configurations. You can edit the cache to add any channels found in one scan, that were not found in another.

The hardest part is channel mapping, so see my post above to make that much easier.
