I'm sure I read a post about getting the PCH to wake up the GBPVR server from standby, but cannot find it.

Can anybody advise what is needed.

thanks Steve

I use it, but you have to tweak the scripts.
You also need to run them from the internal disk or (untried by me yet) an always-on network drive. There isn't enough in the PCH software itself (as yet) to do it.

Let me know if you want to go further... It also uses a bit of software I got of the "main" Martin, so if he spots this post could he permit me to repost it here?

Martin, feel free to upload this. It is GPL and I distributed it with source so I couldn't say no if I wanted to. The file is small enough to copy and run from the PCH.

OK, here it is. Beware that my scripts are the original ancient ones (if it works, leave it alone) It should be easy enough to add in somewhere though.

copy ether-wake to /etc/mvpmc or somewhere that is always available and insert the line in startmeup with your own server MAC address.

Martin123, me being thick probably but where is the /etc/mvpmc directory, I assume on the PCH, but I can only access

lost+found
music
video
photo

or do I need to be moving my c:\mvpmc directory from my PC to the PCH and adding these files into that directory.

I also assume that I could combine the scripts so that it always attempts to wake the PC before it accesses the PC with a single request.

You would only see /etc/mvpmc via telnet. Brainstormer posted his script for running mvpmcx2 from PCH hard disk here http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...ostcount=5 and yes you should be able to combine the scripts.
