My local cable TV provider made a complete overhaul of the channel lineup about 6 months ago. Ever since, SchedulesDirect has been constantly adding or changing channels for my local lineup around once a week, and still going on. Every time they added a channel, I used to have problems with the program guide in 1.3.7 simply not showing any info for various different channels.

I tried updating to 1.3.11 a couple of weeks ago, and now nothing shows up in the program guide, and upon trying to do an EPG update, config.exe shows a pop-up box with a stack of exceptions, then crashes. In the past, the only way I could fix this was to uninstall GB-PVR, delete all the stuff left behind, then reinstall. But every time a new channel is added, it happens AGAIN and AGAIN, like every week!

If there's something I'm just doing wrong, please, somebody tell me what it is!
(config.exe-1 logfile attached, it shows the exception at the end of the file)

I can still watch live TV, but I think it's after after the data stored in the EPG expires, then the EPG simply won't update any more without crashing. I have to reset the channel line-up manually every time I re-install GB-PVR, and it still keeps happening. Can no one help me? Can someone even just tell me how to manually empty the EPG database without removing the channel mappings so I don't have to constantly re-install and reset every single channel every 15 days?

It looks like you database is entirely corrupt. Have you tried removing it entirely and starting from an empty database? After deleting gbpvr.db3, then running the config app, it'll create a new empty database.

If I remove the database, it does appear to re-create the database, but my capture source is gone along with all the channel mappings. I didn't post any other logs because it said I was limited to 19.5kB. Do you need any other logs? I have a screen capture of the actual pop-up error message too, if you would like it.

Yes. I was hoping going from a clean database might help, rather than uninstalling/reinstalling (which usually leaves the database in place).

Yes, I can do a successful EPG update on a clean database, but it takes several HOURS for me to manually set all the channel mappings after I run a scan. It doesn't automatically assign a channel the scan picked up to to any of the stations in the line-up, they all show up as unknown, so I have to go and assign each and every one by hand. That's why this issue with the database continually becoming corrupt is so frustrating for me. If there was some feature to import and export the channel mappings stored in the database, that would make things much easier for me.

To be honest, I dont know. I've only seen a few reports of corrupt databases over the years.

Well, I do appreciate your help, but is there no way to save the channel mappings so I don't have to re-enter them if the database becomes corrupt again?

JavaWiz, BDA channel mapping tool will do what you want. Check the WizTools utilities on the wiki
