GBPVR, WinTV 150 Remote and essentials

Hi all,

I've not setup my PVR yet, but as soon as my Hauppage WinTV-PVR-150 comes, again.

My questions, What all do i need to do to watch live TV/Record TV off of my soon to be PVR.

My other question, Do i need a remote before i setup my PVR? The Hauppage i purchased doesn't have the IR port for the remote.

And, on to the next question, What is a good, cheap but efficient, remote that i can use with Windows XP Pro (not MCE) or Windows 2003 server?

You only need a remote if you want to control GBPVR with it, or if you want GBPVR to control a Set Top Box (satellite or cable receiver).

I use a Windows MCE remote (version 2a) and "beanbag" (with the GBPVR built-in MCE support) on a Windows XP Pro system. I don't know what country you are in, but I got my MCE remote with "beanbag" and two blaster "buds" as a kit off E-Bay for about 16 USD plus shipping. I couldn't find detailed instructions for setting up the MCE remote hardware, so I funbled around and found it in one of the subselections of the capture source setup tab of the config application, then stumbled through it a couple of times before I got it working. Post again if you end up using a MCE remote and need help. I will try to put together better instructions.
