I'm sorry to post for help but I've been trying things suggested in the forum and so far nothing has worked. I have GBPVR running from an XP SP3 high end machine with a dual teamed gigabyte nic. I have a Vista 64 client also with gigabyte nic connected as a client. The server runs great, had a few teething problems when scanning for channels but its all setup and working, can watch tv, change channels no problem. The client will connect, display tv guide and start to play live tv but has issues depending on config. I have an ati mux installed and if I use streaming the tv will play for a while a little choppy at first until osd hides then will play for random amount of time smoothly and stop, the pxr will stop responding and I have to close and re-open. The client also crashes if I try to change channel. If I change to file sharing the client will start tv but it is very choppy and unwatchable. My problem is that I am struggling to find any muxes that I can install. I have found various stuff and used regsvr32 to register the ax files but they do not appear a muxes. Sorry if I've got this wrong. Thanks is advance for any help this is a great product and the support is great.

FWIW (and I know this doesn't help) I have GBPVR running in a nearly identical setup.... server is WinXP Pro SP3 and server is Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 on a Thinkpad X61s laptop (1.6GHz dual core). The server is hardwired to the router and the client is wireless. Using filesharing, playback on the client is 100% solid using ffdshow at about 20-60% CPU. In fact, I recently watched a recording while browsing the web AND rendering a HiDef video in Adobe Premiere Elements 7 as a test. Playback was 100% solid with the CPU maxed out.

Since half the link is wireless, I am limited to filesharing. Streaming results in choppy video. Unfortuantely, I can't watch live TV over filesharing though.

Sorry, playback is not a problem, its the Live TV I have an issue with, sorry if this was not clear. I'm not sure if its a mux problem or codec issue. Codecs are not really that difficult to find, it the muxes I stuggle with.

Just a WAG but is your dual homed NIC possibly the problem if the client is also dual? Or did I misunderstand you.

As I understand it, live TV requires full duplex communications. With half duplex, it stutters. While both your NICs are probably full duplex, if the traffic gets split between them that might be the same to the apps on each end as half duplex for time critical stuff.

Again, just a guess....
