Can't playback mkv file

I have an mkv file that does not play back on gb-pvr. It does playback on VLC and XBMC and plain WMP. I have ffdshow installed. I looked at the video component and it says it's was encoded using AVC. I included the details below. My question is this, does gb-pvr have problems playing back mkv files?

GB-PVR doesnt play any part in playback of .mkv files. It just askes directshow to play these files.

If your machine uses ffdshow for playback of this mkv file, you might need to edit the ffdshow settings to add "pvrx2.exe" to list of applications that'll ffdshow will work with. WMP is on that list by default.

If you render the file in Graphedit/Graphstudio what happens? Does it produce a complete playable graph or are you missing a splitter filter?
