I've been using a Hauppauge PVR250 with GB-PVR for some time with excellent results and decided to expand my channels through adding the latest Hauppauge Nova-T PCI digital card. I've installed the latest drivers for both units and tuned in set them up in GB-PVR Config file ok. I even used the Tuning Asst to set up the analogue channels.

But . . . Using the 2 cards together somehow doesn't work and there's no live Tv preview anymore. Is this some sort of driver conflict?

1. If you look at the Capture Sources page in Config.exe, what order are they in?

2. Have you set the 250 to Capture Device #1 and the Nova-t to Board Number 1? If not, do it.

3. What EPG are you using?

4. I presume you did the 'Map digitals channels to EPG channels' step? Did you get video/audio in the preview window.

I have a 350, 500 and Nova-t working together. OK, there are teething troubles and unpredictable crash of the recording service occassionally but it mostly works for me.

Thanks for the information Brian cause it seems to be working. As a matter of fact, my cards were installed opposite to the way you mentioned so as soon as I re-configured the software it didn't crash anymore.

When I tuned in the PVR250 via the Tuning Assistant, I added my local UHF Frequencies for the local analogue channels. i.e. (S4C) c53, (BBC1) c57, ITV1 (c60), BBC2 (c63). - However, when I setup and remapped the digital channels, the analogue frequencies originally setup were superseeded by their digital equivelent. Do I Change these back ? Otherwise I can't see where the PVR20 card Kicks in.

Thanks in anticipation.

Urrm, OK....I think I understand.

All analogue channels in the UK are also broadcast with a digital equivalent - so... when you setup the Nova, it has to use the digital tuning to get them. The 250 has to be set with the analogue frequencies.

A capture 'source' is a meld of a device and EPG with tuning information (relative to the device) thrown in. If the 250 still has the relevant analogue tuning information set then it is fine that the Nova has the relevant digital tuning information for the digital equivalants of the analogue ones.

I hope that makes sense.
