Hi guys
After running a gbvpr setup with 4 analog tuners and 3 MVP's for over 5 years I think I'm finally ready to take the plunge and go digital.
It is a bit of an investment, so perhaps some of you could help me settle which hardware to get ... The system is almost solely used for playback of recordings and occasional live tv. I plan to get at least 3 dvb-c tuners and 2-3 clients.
My server only has 2 PCI slots, and I will probably keep one PVR-500 in there for legacy purposes, so ideally im looking for good value USB dvb-c tuners(I don't need CAM support). Any recommendations?
As for the clients I am looking at the PCH A-110. The lack of dvb subtitle support has been a bit of a showstopper for me, but it seems it should be possible to add hardwired subtitles using postprocessing.bat - a workaround I can live with. Is the A-110 still the way to go or are there better options out there? I read somewhere that there are other NMT's that apparently support dvb subtitles, however, I have not been able to find a thread that confirms this ...?
I did my homework and checked whether the things that matters the most to me will work with this setup and the A-110. The things listed below are my primary concerns - please let me know if there's issues:
- Working comskip.
- Working time skip (If ff/fr also works that would cool too)
- Stable client operation over .n wireless (I will be using the same .n bridges as I am currently using for the MVP's)
Thanks a lot,
Casper
