I'm using a computer to run "ripped" DVD music concerts through a DENON AV receiver. The DVD's were ripped using Moyea Magic DVD ripper. The profile used to rip the DVD's is Video MPEG-2, Audio AC-3. I'm using ffdshow as the codec with the GB-PVR software. My question is this. I'm getting "rough" edges around people faces when there is movement. If its a still shot it looks fine, but if there is any movement it's not as clear as it should be. I have software that came with my DVD Blu-ray drive. If I run one of these videos files in this software it crystal clear. What do I need to do to get that quality through the GB-PVR software.

GB-PVR itself isnt reducing the quality of the DVD, but the decoders you're using might be.

sounds like it might be a problem with deinterlacing?

1. Try different decoders (there's a chance you already have the cyberlink decoder available)
2. play with the deinterlace settings in ffdshow.
3. search the forum for the SAF codec pack which includes ffdshow configured to work right with gbpvr. If you especially concerned about your current codec configuration, you should take an image backup of your system first as it reconfigures the codecs on your system.
4. Welcome to gbpvr!

Does it looks like first frame of this picture?
Did you tryed SAF? If you have decent hardware, Latest beta 23 can give you such result.

Here is good source of information about deintelacing + samples.

Hoborg,
Kind of looks like the first picture. The edges have little squares like when you blow up a picture in Paint Shop. Its small but you certainly can see it.
