Hi guys

I've been running my media centre PC with XP Pro for a couple of years now, and it's been very reliable but with certain limitations. I found a few spare components this weekend, so decided to get back into things. I added a new hard disk and another gig of RAM in readiness for Windows 7.

The install went fine, and the system is really speedy (even though the Athlon X2 3800+ is a little long in the tooth now). Using Windows Media Centre, everything is working as expected with all channels tuned in. However, when trying to tune channels with GBPVR I am getting numerous "Unknown" channels, and the BBC channels on MUX1 are not being picked up at all.

I have already applied the offset fix as below (not sure it's needed anymore):

http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...post276596

I've also deleted the shadow copy of the GBPVR folder from within \users and applied the latest ini file for the Rowridge transmitter frequencies.

The Pinnacle 3010ix is detected as a different device than in Windows XP, presumably because of a different driver. I can view non MUX1 channels with GBPVR, so it's a bit weird. I tried to run filtercheck.exe but it didn't produce a log file.

I will attach some other log files this evening if it helps. Any guidance would be much appreciated!

Best regards

Yes....this seems to happen alot after digital switchover. Do you pick up the channels from Mendip? If so, search on this forum for cache file which someone has corrected all the "unknowns" to the right channel.

Hi, I get my signal from Rowridge, so no problems there.

I have been messing around with the setup this evening and think I have sorted the issue. While the system worked fine in XP with the driver provided, the Windows 7 driver obviously brought new changes. I unplugged on of the aerial inputs and all the BBC channels re-appeared, making me wonder if the signal was just too strong? I still didn't get all channels though (in GBPVR). I swapped the powered aerial out for a non-powered aerial and I seem to have all channels again. It appears that the new driver is boosting the signal somehow.

Anyway, I now just have to contend with the channel mapper which keeps crashing!

Getting there Smile

Doh! Posted too soon! Must have been a one off as the other tuner is just getting a load on "unknown" channels again now Sad And swapping back to the original tuner does the same, even though it locks onto BBC Three before it starts tuning. Weird.

Trying to tune this thing is proving to be a complete nightmare. Anyway, I tried a different tack - I copied across the complete GBPVR directory from the old hard disk, changed the capture devices and left the channel mappings as they were in the old installation. Guess what? It works perfectly. I'm leaving it as it is until the new version of GBPVR comes along with (hopefully!) a much better tuning system Smile

Thanks
