Does the DVD module in NPVR work on NMT's?

My server currently does not have an optical drive so I can't test this easily.
Will the DVD menu item in NPVR extend to MVPMCX2 to play DVD's?
If not, is this technically feasible in the future? Additionally, It would be cool to be able to add a BluRay ROM to the server and watch BR.

DVD playback via NPVR is still unfinished. The DVD menu option should not even show up, and DVD ISO and VIDEO_TS in the Video library was still not working the last time I checked.

Assuming everything was running you could play VIDEO_TS files from DVD's that don't have CSS enabled which excludes most commercial DVD's

whurlston has talked about some sort of improved m2ts BluRay playback, but until then you should be able to play m2ts files now.

DVD playback works on the PC, but wont currently work on the NMT, but could probably be enabled without too much effort, using the same approach GBPVR used. The biggest issue with this is that it requires a fair bit of manual share configuration outside of GBPVR/NPVR, and was a bit prone to human error - and not something I wanted to deal with at this stage of NPVR.

I dont think BR playback would be possible though. I'm pretty sure this isnt possible via the libraries available the A100/A110 family of devices. Maybe on the A200 family of devices in the future, but even then it might not be possible - Martin might be able to tell you more.

I know the NMT's will not decrypt DRM so I'm sure the above functionality would require NPVR to do this work. If it's not something in the development plan, that's fine. I am just trying to decide what to do in the future for BR playback.

I wouldnt be building any DVD / BluRay decryption into NPVR, but you might get lucky with AnyDVD or AnyDVDHD for on-the-fly removal of the encryption of any files read from your DVDs.

Note that there isn't any DRM removal in mvpmcx2 either. "Full menu" DVD playback uses a shared drive and so any solution a user comes up would have to provide DRM free access from the network.
