Has anyone had a problem like this? After using the MVP server to watch a program, I have noticed that my internet connection seems to be locked up. (when opening IE, I get a blank/can not connect page). This usually requires me to reset (unplug) my router and cable modem which fixes the problem. Do I have something set up wrong?

I've been seeing similar things happen on my system. Never crossed my mind it may be GBPVR. I've been trying to trouble shoot this network loss for about 2 months now. When I lose my connection though, I usually lose connection to my MVP's along with it. If I unpug the Cable and plug it back in it usually fixes it. I can also disable the card in windows, restart it, and everything is fine again. I still think in my case it's a NIC, switch, router problem. But interesting that someone else is having an issue.

Interesting. I have my Xbox and MVP on the same switch over by the TV. If I have the MVP powered (power connected, on or off doesn't matter) the Xbox loses connection. Sometimes after a few minutes, other times it takes as much as 15 minutes. I've gotten into the habit of only plugging the power cord into the MVP when I intend to use it, so as to avoid getting cut off mid-show when watching something on the Xbox.

I assumed it was the switch that was at fault. Perhaps the MVP really is doing something odd.

I don't live in a data center you know. [Image: smile.gif] Trust me, that 100mbit switch isn't breaking a sweat.

Doesn't rule out it being broken in some fashion though, obviously. But since others have experienced similar issues and the problem is solved by unplugging the MVP, it does make a likely culprit.

I've seen somewhat similar issues before related to failed speed autosensing in switches causing ports to essentially overload themselves with so much junk nothing valid can get through. Without the ability to force the switch or MVP to a certain speed though I don't know any way of testing that.
