match first character in listings

I have tons of videos and it'd be nice if I could press a key and have the selected item jump to the first listing with that character. e.g. Press P and it jumps to the first listing that starts with P.

I find the press a number & it jumps that % down the list (ie. 5=50% down the list) works very well for me especially for my (many many hundreds in a folder) photos that are all named something like "2012-xx-xx_Whatever.jpg" when a letter selection navigation wouldn't work at all.

I could also see partial match while typing being useful in the 'Search' view too.
