I have an opinion. You see that big black space underneath the TV in the rendered image that you posted? That is where people want their HTPC to live. FLAT, THIN and SILENT and not looking like a wastepaper basket or a wine cooler beside the TV.

The design looks like a very interesting PC interpretation of the Apple Mac Pro and could find a lot of fans in the PC community but I don't think that the HTPC community is the target audience for such a machine.

So if it suits your needs, go for it and good luck...

Many of us have more complex requirements... I have 4 TVs and I certainly wouldn't build and maintain 4 separate PCs when I can keep all my iron up in the attic and use silent, maintenance free, A110 extenders. This allows me to share tuners, view TV recordings, home videos, music, photos, DVDs, etc on any TV.

I have a PC in the study for normal PC use and gaming and I have a HTPC under the TV in the living room, which is controlled via a remote and which I want to be as quiet as possible and which lives in a rack alongside other slim, rectangular hifi components.
Different folks have different needs. You asked for opinions, I gave you mine. it's a perfectly valid opinion. Whether you agree with me or not is not important.
