I'll have to get back to you on that as my PVR is in bits at the moment. I don't think I did anything clever with it though, just XP Pro SP2 with all the updates, the latest PVR-250, VIA, etc. drivers (at the time of loading) and I must say, I've found the M10K board to be very stable and reliable. It's a bit underpowered for a PVR but that's been my only real complaint with it from a hardware point of view - other than that I can't get it completely silent.

Software wise, GB-PVR is one of my favourite HTPC apps (I like MCE too but can't get it to work with the M10K). I have it outputing through an MVP but I mainly want it for playing music videos and films through the TV and the MVP doesn't handle NTSC files properly so it doesn't get as much use as I'd like.

Have you tried a clean install recently? That ought to give you a good and stable system. Mine has 5-6 different PVR programs loaded on it and doesn't give any problems, my only trouble is in finding the perfect configuration to give me an HTPC that I'd use on a regular basis. However, this isn't looking promising at the moment as I need subtitles and none of them offer that.

How is yours unstable? Could it be heat, power or whatever? Maybe you have a dodgy board?

FWIW, my system is a VIA M10K, PVR-250, 512MB, WD 80GB JB drive, DVD-Rom, Sereniti-2000 case with 100W PSU + Hauppauge MVP and Telewest PACE DI2000 cable TV box with RedEye control. The video & audio files are stored on my server, the local disk is just for the system and for recording.

Simon.
