Just built my box using the PVR-350 & GBPVR and it was working great. Very happy to hear that when you put XP into hibernation it will wake up to record a scheduled program.
Set a test up & was very chuffed to see that the box woke up and was active but when I came back to watch the program I found that the mpeg file was 0k. [Image: sad.gif]

After some more tests I have found that the PVR-350 stops working correctly after hibernation (no S-Video out) and will only correct itself after a full reboot. The weirdest part is that the wintv2000 software has the same problem BUT the audio still works (i.e. when watching Live TV.)

Has anyone else had this or a similar problem?

Hello,

I have the same problem. Windows XP (all patches) and PVR350.
It happened on WINTV2000 too.

Yep, I found the same problem, the machine will wake up and record but no output on the PVR 350 TV out.

I've tried XP and Win 2000 (which I'm now running) and I also find that you also get the problem after sleep (suspend to RAM) as well as hibernate (suspend to disk).

I presume that the problem is with the Hauupauge drivers.

I've thought about getting an X Card and using this for TV out to get around this (does anyone know if that has the same problem or not?) but at the moment, I've set my system so that it doesn't go to sleep. This isn't too much of a problem because it is a VIA EPIA system and is very quiet and only draws about 60W when its running flat out.

Sorry no solutions though [Image: sad.gif]

I have done a little more testing & found that I can get the PVR-350 to stay working if I go into 'stand by' instead of hibernate.

This is a 'S1' suspend in my BIOS - the case / power fan stays on & I assume power to the PCI card (PVR-350) is still supplied.

If I change the BIOS to 'S3' suspend (Suspend to RAM) the PVR-350 is affected again (same as Dai).

Is there some way of forcing XP to keep the PCI slot in the 'S1' state when it hibernates maybe?

Yes, this is known problem with the Hauppauge drivers. I've seen it dicussed several times on other forums.

Best I get in touch with Hauppauge then.
Looked on a few other forums & found that they were less than helpful but I suppose that if enough of us complain then they may sort the drivers out.

I think it's really strange that it happens! Hibernation (S4) is essentially a cold boot that stores the image of the RAM on disk - the sequence is the same - it's as though the drivers are written to not work in any decent power save scheme! [Image: rock.gif]

It's such a shame as the PVR350 is such a nice card. [Image: sad.gif]
