Can't give any advice on Sky, but I have a setup using NTL and a PVR150:

The NTL box is connected to the PVR150 as follows: SCART out of the NTL box feeds (via a convertor kit from Argos, I assume you are UK-based) into the video-in of the PVR 150, which is a phone-type socket. For sound-in, the PVR150 takes a 3.5mm jack like a walkman, which connects to the two phone sockets on the Scart convertor using a 3.5mm-to-phone cable (also from Argos).

GBPVR controls the channels on the NTL box using a Redremote/redeaye serial (http://www.redremote.co.uk/serial/) IR-blaster. I could not get the blaster which comes with the PVR150 to work the NTL box. The remote which comes with the PVR150 controls GBPVR via the IR receiver which also comes with the PVR150.

Am am not sure you will find a decent way of feeding your satellite dish into the PC other than via the Sky box, since you will need the decoder. If you were only interested in free-to-air then things might be different, I'm not sure.

The TV is connected to the computer as follows: video-out (little yellow socket) from my graphics card (nothing special, cost about £60 about 6 months ago) and sound-out (from built-in sound) to another composite-SCART convertor, which plugs in the back of the TV.

All works pretty well. My PC it not particularly high-end at all, the only things I had to buy especially were a bigger hard drive, the PVR-150, the Redremote and a quieter case.

Hope this is of some help.

Sky box 1. Scart to 3 phono leads (red, white, yellow). Yellow (video) into a RCA video/svideo converter (which came with the PVR350) into the PVR 350. Audio (red/white) into PVR350.

Sky box 2. Scart to 3 phono leads (red, white, yellow). All three into the PVR 150.

Also into the 350 (or was that the 150) I have a RF (ariel) feed.

Output to TV via the 350 TV Out. (Actually via a SCART->RF OUT converter).
