PVR-250 recording problem

I am using a Hauppauge PVR-250. I am trying to record of a composite input(DirecTV Satellite).

Everytime I record, the files are not viewable and the file size is way too big.
e.g. a 1 minute recording is 800+ mb

I have no problem watching TV live, I just cannot get it to record.

Any suggesstions on what I should do?

It sounds like you've selected the wrong type of card in the setup. This can happen if you selected PVR150 in the place of PVR250...
