Sub,

My issue is that what I set the MEDIUM/DEFAULT settings to:

RES: 720x480
TYPE: VAR
MIN RATE: 4800
MAX RATE: 6200
SAMP: 48khz
BITRATE: 384

Appears in the CONFIG>EDIT RECORDING SOURCE, however none of those settings are actually used when recording programs.

I was getting around ~4000 vid bitrate until I edited the direct.ini.

Then the settings held.

*** PS This is on a WinTV-PVR 150 (Non MCE)

What type of card do you have? The ATI 550 pro cards (and clones) sometimes seem to ignore bitrate requests.

I've checked my config.xml as well as the config program, and its listed in both correctly. The dll is also still present in the plugins folder. It just doesn't appear. Any thoughts?

I had the same problem. It showed up as an installed plugin in the Config app, but it would come up and threw some errors in the log. I reinstalled MyVideo4 and it started working again. The upgrade must overright something My Videos doesn't like.

Sub, what about a FAQ of the top 10 questions that get asked repeatedly... On another forum, the admin. doesn't allow people post until they've read the FAQ

I suppose this wouldn't pass as being easy, but if you're handy it might work :-)
