I'm using Hauppauge PVR2 USB2:
Is it possible to use GB-PVR only for watching TV? How would it be possible?
I couldn't get a XMLTV-File for my location (Austria/Europe)?
Would it be possible to scan for the avaliable channels?

Thanks for your help!

start gbvr.exe with the -LiveTV Parameter.

For EPG data for Austria take a look at

http://www.tvmovie.de/clickfinder/clickfinder.html (Database)

http://home.snafu.de/w.schneider/tvm2xml/ (XML Converter)

The first software is free for the first 8 channels. Would like to receive more channels, you have to pay for it.
It's worth the money

The second software converts the database to xml format to import into gbvr

Thanks for your reply!

I've tried it out.
If I start the program with gbpvr.exe -LiveTV it also starts recording. It starts a file and keeps writing to the HDD. There is also a sort of timer that counts up. It starts from zero again, if I switch to another channel.
What could be the problem?

Thats just the way it works. The files will be recycled.

In future I'd like to move to mechanism where the file will never grow over a particular size (usinga ring buffer), but this is a low priority as there are plenty of other things that need to be finished first.
