System Plugin for nPVR - Early Beta

I don't know why, but sometimes while I have a recording in progress and try to open the system plugin page, it freezes up NPVR and then finally crashes it.

Any error messages? Logs? Just noticed your Device failed to start thread too (http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...d-to-start). It might be related.

I've posted a new version to the wiki (http://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php?n=Plugin.System).

- You can now provide custom labels for the drives (leave the entry blank to continue to use the names as provided by Windows).
- You can now rename tuners to whatever text you want to display for them.
- The plugin should now work with any skin regardless of whether or not the skin supports it.

These additions have meant changes to the structure of the plugin's settings stored in config.xml, so you'll need to reconfigure any drives you were monitoring.

when i try to open plugin when rec service is set to non-external [not using separate rec service] then i get errors about not being able to communicate with 127.0.0.1:xxxx etc..
it's because i run it with that box unchecked on clients,etc as they don't need rec service running all the time..
have to exit npvr twice,first time i get that error..2nd time it exits..
maybe Sub can help with hints on how to get info when it's not separate?

plus, can you add option to use net paths for drive space? i don't map these drives so no letter to choose in gui..

it's helpful to see server's free space from client as it's harder to do otherwise..
i tried to use path in config.xml butit gets cut off..mapped net drive works fine tho..

If you don't run NRecord then you get no NEWA, and I *think* System Plugin gets some of it's info by talking to NEWA.

No, the plugin only makes calls to the APIs in NUtility.dll and NShared.dll - NEWA isn't used. I can post some of the source when I'm back near my development PC.

Here's the two files that do all the communication with NPVR's recording service.

- NSystemStatus handles what gets displayed in the status message at the top of the screen.
- NSystemTuners populates the list of active recordings.

I've posted a new version to the wiki that lets you do this now. Use the Add Drives dialog in the Settings GUI to configure any mappings.

I'm not really sure how it'll perform if you give it a path that doesn't exist, or the remote system doesn't respond, or your credentials are wrong, or...
