If I just mark the commercials as chapters, everything is good.

Are you burning PAL or NTSC disks? ISO's or actual disks?

Thanks for this plug-in which is very useful.

The interface works fine but when it reaches the IMGBURN (or NERO) stages it says that the resulting DVD has failed compliance. On closer inspection of the Video_TS directory there are no:
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
files

but there are:

VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB

If I click on these they will play directly in PowerDVD however, if I burn the folder to a DVD it will not play in a regular DVD player.

Any clues on what I am doing wrong. Everything seems to be working fine, just that these files are missing. I am using v1.0.1.1 BurnDVDX2 as I couldn't find the advertised version v1.0.1.4. I'm trying to burn a PAL DVD.

Thanks

Sorry, I think I fixed it. Could have been just re-install/reboot problems, or me not waitng long enough for the processing!

That's weird. It should pop the disk out when it's done.
Anyway the version on the wiki is correct. I looked at the install and the message does say installing 1.0.1.1 like you said but it is really 1.0.1.4.

I fixed that in the install but haven't uploaded it. I will on the next rev.

If you look in C:\temp\BurnDVD\VIDEO_TS you should see the DVD that it plans to burn. If you burn an ISO instead of an actual disk, you can check that it worked without wasting any disks.

Hi pastro,

I upgraded to the latest version of BurnDVDX2 last month when it came out, but haven't used it until last night. I noticed that MENCODER was running and it seemed to be taking an inordinately long period of time to prepare the video files, at least compared to the version I was using before the upgrade (which I believe used FFMPEG). I wound up cancelling the process since it seemed like it was transcoding the file or something similar. The file was only about 3.8G, so I'm not sure what was going on. There were no commercial cuts, as I had already stripped them out of the original MPG with ProjectX and remuxed to create a commercial-free MPG.

Any ideas? I liked the version I was using prior since it was very quick - obviously wasn't transcoding - and worked perfectly.

Thanks for any input.

It only uses mencoder if it is stripping commercials. That is one of the comskip options. You might check which one it is set to. If it is one of the other two modes (comskip chapters set to dvd chapters or comskip chapters are disabled) it uses ffmpeg like before.

Thanks pastro!

Hi Pastro,

I've the same problem like kurtph. The prerequisites are the same, same version of plugin, same work to do (create a PAL iso), same error.

When it comes to imgburn, it tells me, that the ifo file is missing. I tried differend modes (last without any "com skipping").

Do you have any hint for me where to look? Log file looks fine...

Greetings
Peter

When I have problems I like to run the process directly so you can see any error messages that are generated.
Open a cmd prompt and go to your temp\burndvd dir and run the builddvd.cmd file. Note any errors and post back.
