that was the key I was missing. I installed the versions from other packages on the site. once I removed those files and let the BurnDVDX2 installer take over, the menu page showed up. Thank you.

Any idea which file was out of date and where it came from?

The file that I loaded manually was CommonGBPVRUtilities from http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Devel.../Utilities. Honestly I didn't realize that the WizUiHelper.dll file was copied into the plugin directory instead of the root. Hence one of the reasons I was asking for a download location.

I love using BurnDVDX2, thanks so much for putting the time into creating (and maintaining!) this great tool for us!

This past weekend i did some manual recordings from my VCR. I went into BurnDVDX2 and was unable to add them to a project. I could my regular recordings. So i figured maybe there was an update for BurnDVDX2...there was -but it just wrapped the imgbrn into the install. Well, i did an install of this anyhow. I also dl Skip Tool thinking i could use this separate to put in my markings, then i could comcut, then perhaps BurnDVDX2 would let me add them to a project.
So after all this, i move the manual recordings into a different folder i created then decided to see how things were in BurnDVDX2.
I was able to add them to a project! I went to Skip Tool within BurnDVDX2 but now it is in 'Auto Mode' for finding cuts, vs manual that i had before.
I went so far as to uninstall Skip Tool and BurnDVDX2, deleted the folders, rebooted, etc. Then installed only BurnDVDX2, 1.0.1.3 since i had it still. The auto mode (and the SaveFold.jpg which is new-what's this for?) was still there.

I really would love to have manual mode back, but for the life of me i can't figure out how, and couldn't find anything in my forum searchings or in the wiki. :o

I have the latest version 1.1.5 of GBPVR installed.

Thanks for your help!

The savefold.jpg saves whatever is showing on the preview screen on the right, to the file folder.jpg. This gets picked up by the recordings plugin and shows a thumbnail. It's also a convenient way to get a snapshot from a video.

Automode. Just scroll in the center list box to the pair you want to edit. It will then only edit the one that is showing. If the center list box is on automode then it will decide which pair you are editting based on where you are in the file.

Did the manual recording show up in the file list? If it showed up and you still weren't able to add it to the project, there is likely a code problem with the database on my end. Repeat what you did and post your pvrx2_exe-x.log

Sweet on the savefold.jpg - i was hoping that might have been what that was!

Automode - yes, the center list box says automode - this is what i would like to change to manual mode so i can just do it all myself vs having to edit pairs the auto mode created.

When messing with this this weekend I moved the manual recording files to another folder and was able to add them to a project from there. I just did another manual record and this time i was able to add from the Manual Record folder.

Thanks again Smile

Automode: If you scroll to the center list box and scroll to any of the pairs, it will edit just like it did before. The pairs that are there to start are the ones that were found by comskip. In the past you always had to scroll to the pair you wanted to edit, you can still do that.
There is no setting to explicitly take it out of automode. Just scroll to the center list box with the up/dn arrow and it will do what you want

Hey guys,

Just discovered this plugin, has anyone tested it with 1.2.9? also I have transcoded my recordings to xvid to save hdd space ( a little limited atm ) does this only support mpg files? And if it does only support mpg roughly how many hours of standard def analogue or digital tv would fit on a cd/

Thanks for your time

Yes it works with 1.2.9. It only supports mpgs at this time. At medium quality I think I get at 1.8G per hour. 4.77G per disk. raising the quality to high allows just about 2 hrs on the disk. This burns a compatible DVD so AVI and XVID won't work and they would have to be transcoded back to mpg2 to burn to a standard dvd.
There are a couple of small interface issues that I have fixes for but haven't had any time to package them up. The burning is unaffected.

Hi,

this is a great tool and thanks for contributing it. I am rapidly running out of HD space and need to burn my recorded films to dvd, BUT the recordings are too large to go a DVD i.e spiderman is about 6gig and lots of others are over as well. I record using "low" (in record settings option) to keep the size down but any film that goes 2hr or more just won't fit on a dvd.

I realize that there is a transcode feature and that i could re-code them but i'm afraid i really don't know too much about codecs etc. and i don't which setting to use that will give me a smaller sized mpeg.

Is there a way to ensure my recordings are smaller in the future, without transcoding afterwards. (takes forever on my humble system).

Any help would much appreciated.
