With your model, including the beanbag, you will need to follow the instructions in the HipGuide... http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Tips/HipGuide

The remote that comes with the 1062 has limited support, and the ir blaster that plugs into the beanbag will not work without HIP or something

Hope this helps

I try to follow the instruction to program the remote but when I aim the remote and I press a button when HIP ask me to do so (GET USER INPUT), it does not work. I see that the receiver catch it but hip DOES NOT DO SHIT. Anybidy knows why?

Which receiver, the beanbag or the Set Top Box?

If you aim the remote at the beanbag, a light should come on. And HIP should get the code. Worry about teaching all the codes to HIP before the next step which is teach HIP (actually HIPSend) how to talk to your STB.

On a side note. I did have a problem with this card/remote/beanbag. One IR port on the back of the beanbag did not work. I had to change the 1/8 mini for the irblaster to the other port.

I finally got it all working very well, but I didn't like having only one IR blaster port...

I ended up taking the 1062 back and got a 1042 and a Microsoft MCE Remote. Aside from it all working very well, and having two working Blaster ports, it came with two blasters...

The remote control gbpvr (it sends it number when I press on the number pad) but when I do the last step (telling GBPVR to use hipsend), everytime I press a button it start hipsend ... Why? It seriously a real pain in the ass this things... Way to complicated!

Anyway, I get a crappy encoding picture with GBPVR and it always stop. Beside from the remote, GBPVR is unable to change channel, I absolutely have to do it with my expressvu remote, it's like a if it is unable to send any command to the Xvu receiver...

Strange as I have an expressvu receiver (3100 and 2700) controled by GBPVR and the channel changing works great. The mpeg2 encoded images are top notch, just as good as what comes out of the 3100. I am using the Hauppguage PVR150 (not MCE edition) with 45 button remote and small black IR transmitter and grey IR receiver.

Ok, happy to hear that it works great for you. I'm gonna ask you a couple of things in order to program mine to work allright, it's a 2700 that I want to program.

Could you tell me in order what you did to make it work, I'll try your setup and I'll tell you if I have some problem. Did you use HIP to switch channel with the remote? My Xvu receiver is connected with a S-video cable to the Hauppauge. Did you change anything in the MPEG-2 encoding?

Do you neep HIPsend to be able to change the channel on the receiver with GBPVR?

Could I get your settings files for the 2700 since it's the same that I use. I'll modify it for my own settings?

thank you

I'm with Star Choice not Express Vu, but..

Positioning is everything for the IR Blaster & it wasn't straight forward (too me).

The "fat" part of of the tear drop shaped transmitter is the front, and the beam comes out of the face of this. i.e. perpendicular to the sticky tape.

It also has a stupid short range. It pretty much has to be touching the recieving window. 1/2" away and it stops working. It also has a very narrow "band", if it shifts out of square it stops working.

I borrowed some leggo from my kids to get it to the right height and used electrical tape to hold it in place. It's now working like a charm.

While I was pulling out what little hair I had left figuring this out, I'm pretty sure I saw a bunch of bell recievers in the compatibility list. I did down load the latest from hauppage though while fighting with this.

Cheers!

Quote:I want to set my remote to control the sattellite receiver and it doesn't work at all. When I choose LiveTV in GBPVR, I can see the TV but when I change channel with the hauppauge remote, it only change the descrition of a channel on my computer screen but does not affect my sat receiver, it always stay on the same channel. How can I configure my remote to actually switch channel.

I am using the Sapphire ATI 550 with cyberlink remote and I am having the same problem. I can't get the remote to change the channels either. The problem is identical to mine.
