noob needs help with pvr 500

It looks like you've configured it to use the ".exe channel changer" but not set the executable or the executable no longer exists in the directory you configured.

do i need to set the channel changer? i have an mce remote which have yet to install - would that make my life simpler configuring that to change channel?

i did try and select everything to compress it in one go but it wouldnt let me, kept saying that the files were empty and could therefore not be compressed.

PROGRESS!

i removed the channel changer and i am now able to get snow when i click to watch live tv - also i previously wasnt able to go to the epg and select a current show and select the option to watch it - i now can but only get snow.

i have an nvidia card - do i need to install nativeutilties? if so how do i do that?

havent managed to get any sound or video yet.

i have plugged in the antenae but not the 2 seperate black leads that came with my MCE pvr500 as i dont know what they are for or where they should go.

anyone help me get the live tv working?

How are you trying to receive channels? via tuner/composite/svideo? Are you connected to a set top box - if so, how?

hi, thanks for your post - i am using the two tuners at the mo. not yet connected to a set top box although intend to do this at a later date - via s vid or comp (which ever really is recommended).

What channels are you expecting to be able to receive with out the set top box connected? Do you have an antenna plugged in? Do you see these channels when you use the Hauppauge software?

i havent got any haupage software and am using gbpvr. in the programme guide i have all 5 terestrial channels listed. i have installed intervideo tonight and it seems to have improved the quality of the snow i get.

will keep playing around! what haupage sw are you referring to as i wasnt aware that there was anything that came with the card?

Try downloading and installing the Hauppauge WinTV software. The MCE models dont come with it by default, but you can still download it and use it.
