helps to save the planet and save you $$. A pc left on 24x7 can use a lot of juice. Mind, not a huge problem with your T42 (typing this on a T41)

no, not unless it is wired to a hub and receives a wake on lan command.

you need some software that can send a "WOL" signal to the network device of the PC. It is something that businesses use to wake the pc's up before the staff arrive for work. Sorry but I have no idea what software you would need to make this happen.
