Hi,

Will your guide work with this?

(looks really good...)

basically, the plugin is independent from the epg-source. It just uses the programme-information, like start-/endtime, title, subtitle description and so on, stored in the gbpvr-database.

If you want to use the image-functionality, your epg-source needs to write out the <icon>-tag to your xmltv-file. See http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/XmltvIcons for details.

Hi,

Spartan Wrote:Plug in does not seem to work with a SQL Server database.

yes, that's how it looks like.

Sorry, but I won't go into it and add support for SQL Server, as sub said somewhere that SQLite will be mandatory with release 0.98.

c:\xmltv.xml doesn't exist, exiting....

I have never seen this file, even before using i-xmltv...

OK there is an xmltv.xml file in the i-xmltv folder. Should I be pointing to that...

When I do I get this...

Reading C:\I-xmltv\xmltv.xml...

Error reading C:\I-xmltv\xmltv.xml: There is an error in XML document (2, 11).
Exiting.

Maybe, I-xmltv does not include the info when it creates it's XML. What do you think...?

Hi,

The error occurs because your xmltv file has an error in it - as the message says Wink Please post the first lines of your xmltv-file so that i can have a look.

You can check if the <icon>-tags are generated by opening the file and search for "icon".
If you then see something like <icon src="http://www.tv3.co.nz/Portals/0/ShowImages/1_12838.jpg" />, your xmltv-source saves them.

It was more that moving away from Access will be mandatory. Access has some bugs that cause me endless grief, and I want to get away from those bugs.

Access users will be automatically migrated to SQLite. While I dont officially support any of the other databases, like SQL Server/MSDE etc, the users are free to try them if they want. If they point out small things stopping compatibility, then I'll try to fix them if I can.

zehd & Albert,
I haven’t had a chance to upgrade and install this yet, but I’ve been trying to follow the threads to see if there is a way to use the TV Listings icon feature.
Been doing yard work and other stuff this weekend, and wanted to delay upgrading / changing until the snow flys, when I have more (forced) indoor time. Wink
But I’ll try to answer any questions I can.

TVGuideSupercharger outputs, and config.xml points to, “TVGuide.xml”.
Albert, Do you check config.xml for the xmltv path & filename, or is it hard coded?
There’s only a xmltv.log in the I-xmltv folder that contains xmltv download messages.
But xmltv files downloaded from zap2it don’t contain icon information. That’s why people are requesting an “art” folder for icons, we have to download them manually.

PS
Put me on the list for genre color-coding, I like to color code a few of my favorite types.

Hi,

Jim_ Wrote:Albert, Do you check config.xml for the xmltv path & filename, or is it hard coded?
To generate the icon dictionary file, the utitlity XmltvIcons is started with a single parameter, the path to the xmltv-file, for example:
Code:
XmltvIcons.exe c:\xmltv.xml

Jim_ Wrote:But xmltv files downloaded from zap2it don’t contain icon information. That’s why people are requesting an “art” folder for icons, we have to download them manually.
So using the XmltvIcons-utility is not necessary. The 'art'-folder has already been implemented to use as alternatvie or in combination with the IconDictionary.xml-file, see the wiki for details.

Yes, I will have a look at the genre colors hopefully later this week.

Thanks for a plugin I have been waiting for. Just a couple of questions. Is there/will there be support for additional XMLTV tag such as the example below?

Quote:<programme start="20060814235500 +0200" stop="20060815005000 +0200" channel="26">
<title lang="sv">Navy CIS</title>
<desc lang="sv">Amerikansk kriminalserie från 2004. Gibbs och hans kollegor ryker in när en kommendörkapten dör under mystiska omständigheter efter en operation. Repris från i dag.</desc>
<credits>
<actor>Mark Harmon</actor>
<actor>Sasha Alexander</actor>
<actor>Michael Weatherly</actor>
</credits>
<year production="2004" />
<episode-num system="xmltv_ns">0 . 6/22 . 0/1</episode-num>
<previously-shown />
</programme>

Also, are there any plans to implement possibility to do IMDB or Amazon lookup for movies etc. Similar to the lookup Reven does in his MyVideos plugin.
