interesting note, shark...

I was contemplating this myself... but was unsure if the drivers for pvr150 would load and find the pvr150 card in the host machine.... I see you did it with USB... but I still wonder if this will work with the PCI cards in the host machine...

Hi Shark,
What type of processing power do you need to get GBPVR to run smoothly on a virtual machine?

I've noticed that using a trimed down version of XP lets GBPVR run smoother on older hardware in the 1 ghz range.

What are the minmum specs for XP / TinyXP? I've got an old laptop that could do with a modern OS.

I'm running it on a 550mhz p3 laptop with 256mb of ram & it surfs the net nicely with firefox.
It'll also play civ 3 with no problems.

That is all I really do with it though.

My VMware machine is running at 550Mhz with 256 Mb of ram.

SniperDude With regards to accessing a PVR150, I don't think you can the Vmware shell needs to emulate the card functionallity through to the virutal machine, hence only certain cards work, but I'll give it a try and report back.

In case anyone wants to add critical updates to their nLite setup the following might be useful:

Its a critical update downloader.

Ive installed TinyXP (rev 05) in the end, figuring it less risky than deselecting particular components with nLite, Its fantastic, it installed in less than 10 minutes, unattended, and boots in no time at all.

Playback with GBPVR is fine

However i cannot get my Nova-T PCI to work. When i scan for channels in WinTv2000 it finds nothing, and in GBPVR it tells me the BDA device is in use.

Ive followed the haup driver install guide to the letter and am using the latest (Aug 25th 06!) drivers for the Nova-T
I have used this card successfully in another machine, which currently runs the other two with no problems.

Has anyone had any similair issues with this?

Id love to get this to work and avoid having to try a full XP install again!

Try downloading the latest MB/chipset drivers.
I found the ones installed with tiny-xp were old & certain cards didn't work right until I updated the drivers.

I have upgraded the chipset, audio and lan drivers from FOXCONN to no avail.

Perhaps something has been disabled that prevents BDA drivers from working correctly? I wouldnt know where to start on that front though?

Kaizen - did you get this working? What TV tuners do you use?

If you zip and attach the logs I'll see if I can see the cause.

Did you install DirectX? I think a few of the BDA components are officially part of this.
