Hi,

I am really interested in why the Hauppauge remote doesnt work. I can see that if you are relying on the hauppauge builtin functionality within GBPVR on its own with no other third party applications or drivers that this would behave as you describe.
If you add HIP then this would allow you to setup a key for this, of course thats a lot of messing for playing some games so may be I need to rethink my approach. If you do ever play with HIP please try the close feature.

fuzzweed Wrote:doh. sorry, its quite clear when I read it again - just didn't sink in when I first read it :o

I'm using a hauppauge remote, so the exitting is trickier. The remote only sends to the window in focus, and you can only describe the focused window by its windows name (e.g. "GBPVR").
In the case of MAME the window name changes with each game (e.g. "MAME - 1942", or "MAME - Outrun" etc) so it's impossible to get the remote to send an exit command to a generic "MAME" window (other than adding a new entry for every single ROM).
THe only way I've found so far is to assign one of the gamepad buttons to exit, rather than the remote.

On another note for a future feature request, it would be usefull to add a user defined arguments box, in addition to / or overriding the setup check boxes (bit like my programs - sorry to keep comparing themSmile)

Like that idea, would mean I can relax more when updating and adding the options to the configuration screen, was there a particular option that I have not yet implemented that you like/need to use? I will see if I can get that done in the next few days, busy on adding different feature at the moment, bug fixes take priority. :-D

Your assumptions are correct! I will add page down/up to the wishlist as a feature drop. I have been mainly testing with ePSXe and Zinc and the number of pages was not an issue but I can see Mame could easily have this issue. hmm 24 pages that has to be every mame supported game :-D

Maybe a favorites page for mame is required I will have a think about that.

Ok, here is version 022 for testing prior to release on the Wiki this has the following two additional features as requested:

1. Pagedown and Pageup function in all emulators is now fixed. The page down function was actually already in the last two versions of GameZone but without the page numbers updating correctly (now fixed) and it may well have needed updating in the keymap, anyway suffice to say its been tidied up and I have also attached the required latest version of gamezone.xml which must go in your gbpvr/KeyMappings/ directory.

2. There is now a textbox to add user specified arguaments for Mame in the config applet

Please advise of any problems you find if I dont hear anything, I will update the Wiki. You never know I may actually crack the issue I am working on (Banging head solidly against the wall) and have a few extra features. One can dream.....

Not quite, you can get something like up to 10 DVDs of roms I've read!

OK, You see I'm off this week so I've had lots of time to test and think and I would like to add something to the wishlist. Not sure if it's possible or how much work would be involved, so as I said the wishlist!!

I had an arcade cab running some software called ArcadeOS, which read the games from a listinfo.txt or a listxml.txt , So instead of seeing a list of Rom names (hard to tell which game is which) you got a nice view with the actual game name.

Again, I am not a programmer and have no idea whats involved here, it was a long time ago that I made the arcade machine and like the PVR I just put everyone elses good work together!

I do a similar thing for Zinc where the file names are not what you see in the filelist but the actual title of the game and if its Asia, USA, JP etc..
That wasnt too bad for 79 games when the emulator has not changed in over a year or two not quite the same for Mame though.

However there are features that can do most of the hard work for me actually built into Mame I think!

I will take a look at it but I dont anticipate it being too soon as I really want to get some other features working on ePSXe. Its the kids favorite Emulator so the pressures on :-)

Not quite sure what you mean by "skip screens" but I did clear out some old junk debug code earlier this evening so you could try this version and see if it still does it

Thanks for all the testing :-)

Also loving it! Good work, thanks.
nah, nothing specific regarding the manual args, just a useful feature generally.

I've just had a play with epsxe, but as I've never used it I'm not sure if its my set up or the plugin.
1) play cd button just brings up the epsxe GUI - I still have to run the CD manually from there
2) 'ESC' from epsxe leaves the GUI hanging and doesnt revert to GBPVR in focus.
