If you are having a problem with GameZone 0.4 you have come to the right place.

Version 0.4 now supports the ZSnesw.exe varient of ZSnes emulator by popular demand, and in respect of Fuzzweed's change of alliegence ;-)

Also the database has changed in this version so anyone using Mame will need to go into the config applet and press the 'Build ROM Database' button.

One of the reasons for the database change was to allow for the inclusion of a favourites option. GameZone will now keep track of the Top X games you play the number of games (X) can be configured in the config applet.

Thanks go to Slice for testing the favourites functionality out for me - Cheers!

Users of Zinc may notice a slight slow down of the games list as this is now also held in the database and not hardcoded in the gamezone.dll, it is for the better :-)

The next Emulator to be added will depend on the POLL in this thread so if you are desparate to add your favourite to the list and if enough people agree then thats what is attempted next.

You can find the wiki page at

Good luck and happy gaming

I'm having a little trouble with the snes support.

My install dir for gbpvr is on c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr
My zsnesw roms are on e:\snes\roms

I set the rom path to e:\snes\roms

I fill in the extension (zip|srm) and the name (snesroms)

I hit the add button - ok so far
I hit the ok button - I get a unhandled exception because it can't find my path.
The error message states: Could not find a part of the path
c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gamezone\paths\kega\zsnes\snesroms

So it seems the roms path doesn't actually do anything? It seems you are looking in the ...\kega\zsnes\(name) directory for the zsnes roms. Is that right?
That's a little problematic for me since I like to keep all of my roms on another drive so it doesn't eat up my PVR disk space. Do the roms have to reside within the GBPVR dir structure?

I think I see the trouble. You write files in the dirs to point to the rom dirs. The snes dir seems to be in the wrong spot since the config app wants to write it under kega, but it should be under Paths where the subdir is already present. I'll add a snes under kega and see what happens.

That was the trouble. The zsnes dir is written by the config app under kega, but it is read in gamezone plugin under the paths\zsnes dir. I copied the file that config made to the paths\zsnes dir and it worked.

I've also got a question about about epsxe and ISO files - the 'test' disc images that I've aquired (ask no questions, I'll tell no lies....) are all in wierd and wonderfull formats - I've got an .mdf, and a .nrg so far. Looking at epsxe it only support direct loading of .iso, .bin and .img.
Deamon tools however can mount my files, and I can then run them in the emu.
So my question is, is there a way to show my files in the gamezone list and have it pass them to deamon tools, and then launch epsxe running from the Deamon CD drive??? (basically the same way that GBPVR handles ISOs at the moment)
The other solution of course is, does anyone know of a good freeware app that will convert my files to bog standard ISOs?

Still a little strange. When I edit anything in the config for gamezone and press ok it deletes the contents of the zsnes dir under paths. On one occasion that I had the zsnes dir open on the screen it closed the window for me and deleted the zsnes dir as well. Weird..
With manual playing around I can get it to work and it's pretty cool, just seems like it needs a little tweak.

I use project64 on my mame machine and it works great, unfortunately it doesn't work at all on my pvr. Sound is crackling and the CPU cycles are really high. I ended up using 1964 which lets you change plugins for the video, audio, and game and it works pretty well. I'm not sure which emulator has the better compatibility list.

yeah the sound is a bit off - so if theres a better emu it would definately get my vote.
I've been stuck in 8bit and mame land for ages, its only this plugin that has got me looking at emus for more advanced machines, so I'm not really up on whats available....

I did notice the very issue you are experiencing when I tried GameZone on my main livingroom installation.
I then fixed it and tested the fixed version it would seem that I then added the broken version to the installer package - oops!

I will update the package on the Wiki as well but the version number will remain the same
