Welcome to the GameZone v 0.5 support thread.

Whats New?

Images for all minor versions 4.x are now included in the package as are all bug fixes upto and including v0.46a

Amiga has been added to the portfolio along with support for Profiles, these are GameZones term for the Winuae configuration files (.uae) this means you can boot up a game as an A500 1.2 kikstart or an A1200 with 68030 accelarator and heaps of memory.

Where can I get it?

From the Wifi,
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/GameZone

Any issues, please post them here

Enjoy

I've finally gotten a chance to try out the new GameZone 0.5 and I'm having some problems adding ROM directories for NES and VGBA. I can add the directory to the list, but when I try to save the changes (ie. hit OK button). I get the following error message:

************** Exception Text **************
System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\GBPVR\GameZone\Paths\Kega\Nes\NES Roms'.
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy)
at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share)
at System.IO.File.Open(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access)
at GameZone.GameZoneConfig.GameZoneConfigForm.saveROMListFile(String SystemRootPath)
at GameZone.GameZoneConfig.GameZoneConfigForm.buttonOK_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.OnClick(EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e)
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.OnMouseUp(MouseEventArgs mevent)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WmMouseUp(Message& m, MouseButtons button, Int32 clicks)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.ButtonBase.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.Button.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.OnMessage(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)

I dont know where the "Kega" came from in the directory that the applet is looking for, but "NES Roms" was the name I gave to the set of Roms. A similar error message comes up for VGBA except instead of "NES" there is "VGBA".

There was a similar problem a few revs back with snes
Try creating a dir at C:\GBPVR\GameZone\Paths\Kega\Nes\
Then check where the NES Roms file is written. My guess is it will be in either the new dir or the correct dir. Copy it to both and see what happens.

Is there anyway you can include Stepmania?
http://www.stepmania.com/

I have a playstation hub connected to my computer. It works great for playing games on a real controller. I can also play DDR with stepmania with my ddr pad. Is there anyway you can add compatibility to make your program launch stepmania?

Thanks
-Hans

I second that, but I doubt I'll be able to put the dance pads in the living room. Stepmania is an impressive game.

Hi,

Pastro is correct a very similar (most likely the same) issue surfaced a while ago. I have looked through the code and cant see any flaws in the logic, I have tried various settings to try and get the elusive error message so I can track down the issue to no avail.

So, to move forward on this I am going to need your gamezone section from the config.xml file. I can then set up as per yourself and try adding a NES directory. I suggest you PM the config to me

Thanks

Version 1.0 which is the next version that will be released (loads of new emulators will be supported) has a PC Games launcher. this allows for the user to:

Mandatory
- Name
- a .exe file

Optionally
- ROM directory
- ROM extensions
- command line Arguaments

Would this meet the requirements to launch stepmania?

Regards

Yes as long as it changes the working dir to where the executable is and then runs stepmania I think that will work fine. It is all GUI based.
If you haven't checked it out, it is very well done.
