I was thinking of starting a collection! :p

The fact that you don't run your MVP against a 16:9 tv certainly seems to explain the fact that you haven't worked on this feature.

To be honest, there is very little that could be done with regard to aspect ratio control on the MVP. The current Hauppauge interface basically allow you to configure it as being connected to either a 4:3 or 16:9 tv. The primary differentce between these two is that if you try to play a 16:9 video while you configured for a 4:3 tv, then the MVP will cut off the sides of the picture (centre-cut) - so there didnt seem to be much to gain by implementing support for setting the TV shape with the MVP.

And this is the case even when played to a 16:9 tv set with the aspect ratio set properly on the TV?

I didn't realize 4:3 video would be cut thusly. Given that limitation, yes, it seems silly to spend much time working on 16:9 functionality.

I was just hoping for full (wide) screen menus and was expecting the rest to work like a regular (4:3) MVP.

Thanks for the explanation.
