I was having a heck of a time streaming to my client... I've now discovered that my recorded files don't seem to play in anything except for GBPVR, so when VLC is trying to stream them, it's having trouble. I switched to a .ts stream, which worked, but it appears that recoreded the main 16.1 station plus 16.2 - WMP plays the .1 channel fine, VLC always chooses .2 - so I get the .2 channel streamed through the webpage (which isn't the one I want)

*My cyberlink mux doesn't seem to do the job - unplayable files in anything except GBPVR
*TS makes bigger files b/c it pulls both streams + I can't really choose which one to stream
*MSDVR records fine, but i can't stream that b/c VLC doesn't support it.

I feel as if there is a secret underground set of codecs exists, but no one is allowed to talk about them publicly...

The 'TS Mux' multiplexer option will only record a .ts file containing only the one audio and video stream.

Nah, there is no big secret. Some people just have problems - usually for a whole variety of reasons. HDTV ATSC seems to be more problematic when it comes to directshow muxes etc (more so than other technologies like DVB etc), so there seems to be a few more users that have problems with this.

just to clarify, I was using the "transport stream" option before. I'll try with the TS Mux option sometime tonight to see my results.

The HD playback with the "transport stream" and WMP was beautiful - I could jump through the file without crashing the player and everthing. (cyberlink muxer recorded files would crash WMP/VLC if I tried to jump sections of the file)

I also found that there is a newer version of cyberlink's mux - I have 5.0.813 - I saw people reporting a newer version - I guess I'll try to find a way to get that.

So I guess I have 2 things to try - TS Mux and Newer cyberlink - i'll report my findings on both. I will have to wait until later tonight though as daytime shows generally aren't broadcast in true HD... They broadcast at HD res, but are upconverting SD content. I want to see how things are REALLY doing by recording TRUE hd.
