As I said earlier I'm not a fan of the SNES so dont know which is the most popular emulator.

I dont want to start a war but I have now heard of two ZSnes and Snes9x
Any reasons why one should be added other an other or as long as one gets added no-one really cares?

Standing well back and see if I lit a bomb.....

Well I did a VERY small bit of research and have decided that I will support ZSNESW.exe version 1.51 (latest) for version 0.4 of GameZone. I will start this work sometime tommorrow so if I have made a screw up with my research then let me know ASAP or for ever hold your peace ;-)

I've just recently started using this plugin and I must say that it's great. I'm happy to hear you are going to be (possibly) adding SNES support. That and genesis are my top two. Thank you for all of your hard work, it really shows.

idkpmiller Wrote:Just for my interest when are you having to currently use a keyboard or mouse for emulators at the moment, (Other than initial setup)?

could you provide examples?
and which remote do you have if its not the Microsoft MCE one.

Thanks

Since I have my roms organized alphabetically by folder I need to use the keyboard and mouse to run emulators which you dont have built in support for. These include (as of now, since I may add new ones): ZSNES, jNES and Atari (can't remember the emulator name).

I have the Hauppauge Silver Remote (45-button) that hooks directly into Hauppauge's PVR350 card. So I am unfortuently forced to use the IR32.exe software to integrate the remote into applications other than GBPVR (a nice pain in the ass). But I have recently found out that I may be able to get the source code for this program, so a decent replacement may soon be on the way.

Well, I still havent gotten a chance to test the new plugin version yet, since I've been tied up working on this remote project. But it is high on my list of things to do. By the way the ZSNES addition is a fantastic idea, SNES is by far my favorite system.

Perfect. That one works really well. Tons of supported games.

@Hydrochronic

Did you not get Revens great plugin "My Programs" before he sadly withdraw it, as that would allow you to play the other emulators while awaiting support to be added in GameZone. also anything setup in 'My Programs' is seen by Gamezone.

I suppose if you use the IR.exe that you cant take advantage of the feature that GameZone has of quitting a game by using the remote control?

Good, because I started the layout for the configuration application :-)

I am just trying to work out what are the most needed knobs and buttons to run the emulator, slowing it down seems to be a must :-)

Yep, I did get "My Programs" and it works great for my GameBoy Advance roms (of which I only have a few), since all of my roms are in one directory. But for my SNES roms it doesn't work that great because I have them organized in sub-directories alphabetically.

The Kega Fusion addition works very nicely, I've been playin Sega Genesis games all day. The ability to add multiple directories works good too and solved my subdirectory problem for Kega (can't wait for ZSNES).

I didn't even realize that GameZone added a button to quit the game from a remote. Is it mapped to a hotkey or message code or anything that I can setup Ir.exe to send to GameZone?

Thanks for the reply previously. I wish I had time to do some of my own plugin work but with all of the programs I'm writing for college and math classes that just isn't a feasable option. My Programs does still work with the newer versions of GBPVR? I've looked around but was under the impression it wouldn't work with newer versions. If so I actually found a place to and downloaded it so that won't be a problem.

Yep I can confirm 'My Programs' does still work in the latest version of GBPVR, well at least the last version that Reven released does...
